Sound reasoning

The most common mistake people make is drawing a parallel between the standard diet of our ancestors and our modern one, an analogy which shouldn’t be made. Time gap and circumstances dictate that the past and the current diet should be compared with special caution and skepticism. The milk our ancestors drank is not the same milk we drink today. Today, milk is pasteurized, full of hormones and antibiotics, and cannot be compared to the one that was once a staple food. Chicks were once raised for 72 days before their meat was used, while today’s chicks are fed with GMO soy, hormones and antibiotics so they could grow in 21 days. It is superfluous to comment on meat, because this food is the most misused one for the purpose of making a profit. The meat industry is the largest consumer of chemicals, hormones and antibiotics in the last 50 years. There is an increasing number of children who enter puberty as early as eight years old, get facial hair, various types of allergies and the like.

One should also keep in mind that meat used to be consumed a couple of times a week, and in less well-off families only for major holidays and on special occasions. Today, society consumes meat products for breakfast, lunch and dinner, 365 days a year. A study on this topic, which elaborated on what happens in the human body as a result of increased consumption of foods full of the chemicals listed above, with a special focus on what happens when these substances come into contact with multitude of emulsifiers and flavor enhancers from industrial foods is shocking.

It is not pleasant to think about these topics, but they are certainly unavoidable in this process. They are intended to encourage us to think carefully before we reach for well-marketed sweets, cured meats and dairy products or fizzy drinks.

Most people do want to be healthy, and eat healthy, but they do not want to give up foods they have been eating all their lives. This is an emotional attachment to food. You can not get results without stepping out of your comfort zone. Old habits cannot lead to new results. It is only when we do something we haven’t done before, that we will get a result we haven’t had before. A truly determined and dedicated person can do anything. While the brain itself is limitless, it controls everything, including the body. However, given the difficulty of the transition from a classical to a healthy diet, I would like to emphasize that I do not practice any invasive methods. We take small steps individually and at an appropriate pace, in accordance with the capacities of each client, which then lead to big changes.
